Farewell July Guest DesignVivi Casale

I can hardly believe that we are wrapping up the month of July! I want to thank our July Guest Designer, Vivi for a fun month on behalf of Karen and the YNS Design Team. She was a doll to work with! If you missed her cute party of an introduction, you can see it here.

Here is Vivi's last project for the month - won't you go over and say hi for us and tell her she showcased YNS really well?

Vivi is showcasing Cleo. I love the way she made it shabby chic adding in the doily and the roses with rose background!

Thanks so much for all your hard work, Vivi! Take care and we'll see you around blogland soon. :)

Design Team Tuesday - CAS Style!

Hello YNS Friends!! Jen Roach here and it's time for another Design Team Tuesday post.  Last week we started a new theme for our Tuesday posts.  In case you missed it, this time around we are featuring CAS (Clean and Simple) projects.

Those of you who follow my work know that I like to cram as much stuff as possible on my cards ---it's the scrapbooker in me!  So today I'm showing you the clean and simple style with a twist.

Here's the card I created using the new Sea Creatures one and Sea Sentiments sets. I consider my card "clean" from the white colour palette I used and "simple" because even though it looks really fancy with all the embossing and layers it literally took me less than 10 minutes to make:

1.  Die cut octagon and scalloped octagons out of white paper.  Stamp bubbles and seaweed onto image panel in green and blue inks.  Stamp blow fish image onto white paper, colour, cut out and adhere to image panel with pop dot.  Stamp sentiment in black ink onto image panel.

2.  Die cut scalloped background out of white paper and emboss with embossing folder and adhere to card base.

3.  Adhere image panel to card front, embellish with ribbon and Stickles.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and thanks for stopping by!!

Stamps:  Sea Creatures One set from Your Next Stamp, Sea Sentiments set from Your Next Stamp
Papers:  Neenah white cardstock, Georgia Pacific cardstock
Ink:  Palette Noir, Memento Tuxedo black, green Distress Ink (Peeled Paint) and Adirondack Aqua ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders die cuts, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Offray ribbon, Stickles glitter glue, Copic Markers

Going CAS with Dies

Hello everyone!

Today I am kicking off a new weekly series on the Your Next Stamp Blog...CAS!

What is CAS?  (Besides being one of my favorite styles of cards!)

CAS is the acronym for Clean And Simple

Picture a card with lots of white or open space, few embellishments, and one focal point. This type of card is uncluttered, quick and easy to create.  Less is more when it comes to a CAS card.

I once read that CAS is the equivalent of a LBD (Little Black Dress) for card makers.

Now on to my card featuring dies as the focal point, lots of white space and a bit of patterned paper - I always like to throw in a little pattern on my CAS cards.

Be sure to stop back each week for a new take on CAS from the rest of the design team!

Go BIG with Digis!

Hi all!  It's Angel and I say go BIG (or go home, lol, just kidding!) with your digital stamps!  Now, I don't know about you but I tend to print out my digi stamps on the small side, maybe 2x3 inches or so.  So here we are in the middle of this great thing called Summer and you find yourself needing a card but your kids are bugging you to go to the pool.  Print out one of your favorite digis nice and big so that it almost covers your card front, color it with your medium of choice, add a sentiment, use foam adhesive (or rolled up glue dots, as I did here) for dimension and DONE.  Here, I've used the A Stamp of Friendship digital stamp and printed it out large enough to just about cover a standard card front.  I colored it with Copics, stamped a sentiment on vellum and embossed it (so that it was a bit bolder than if I had just stamped it without embossing), adhered everything with rolled up glue dots and done.  Clean and Simple.  Now off to the pool you go ;)

I hope this helps when you find yourself needing a quick card or even as a way to build your stash!  Thanks for stopping by!

Anything But a Card ~ getting organized!

Hey everyone!  Peggy here with the final week of YNS' ABC design team feature!  I hate looking through stacks of cardstock trying to find just the right colour, or being out doing some crafty shopping and not sure if I have a colour or not so I made up a cute and fun little cardstock sampler using the awesome Stitched Fishtail Tags Two dies!

And on the back of each one I have written down the brand and colour for quick reference when doing blog posts or shopping!

I am also working on one for all my ink colours as well, so far I have just done my Memento Inks.  For the circle of ink I used the solid circle stamp  from the Kup Topper Set Two stamp set.

I hope you have enjoyed!  Happy stamping!

Hello! My name is Kerri Michaud and I’m a stay at home mom to 3 kiddos ages 7, 5, and 2! We currently live in Apopka, Florida which is just outside of Orlando. I got into stamping about 2 years ago after I had my first Stampin’ Up party. I was instantly hooked LOL! Before then I had dabbled in scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, and whatever other crafty whims that came my way. I think I have found my true passion in stamping and card making though! I also LOVE to make altered items and little gift boxes, etc. I am soooo excited and honored to be part of the Senior DT for Your Next Stamp! I ADORE these darling images and just love working with Karen and the rest of the DT!

Angel Rivera

Angel Rivera <br>Designer
My name is Angel and I’ve been stamping for over 8 years! I also scrapbook from time to time, but prefer making cards or other little projects. I try to escape to my craft room as often as my 3 boys (ages 16, 12 and 10) and all of their extra activities allow! My husband of 19 years, Derek, is supportive of my crafty time because he knows it makes me happy. I also work full time with a wealth management company and am a licensed life and health insurance agent. I’m so excited to be working with Karen and ALL of the YNS crew!

Bonnie Kohane

I am a second generation SAHM, which i call SAHGM. ("G" for grandma). I have been watching my grandkids for 7 yrs. I am also going through a second generation of crafting, i have a scrapbook that is almost 60yrs old filled with all of my favorite memories. I've been featured in Stamper's Sampler..more of an artsy card magazine...but my style tends to be "cute". Card crafting isn't the only thing i like to do, if i am not working on cards, you'd see me working at my sewing machine, crocheting or trying any new craft technique out there.. i love a challenge..which brings me to say..i can't wait to see what you all create for the YNS challenges!

We live in a small northen town called Brainerd which is located in the state of Minnesota. For the past 7 years, I have been working for our Local UPS Store as store manager and I just love it. When I am not working I am spending time with my family and friends and of course crafting! I have been passionate about crafting my entire life. My main love of course, is Paper Crafting, specifically card making. I also like to sew, bead and crochet and teach others how to show thier creative sides. I am so honored and privileged to be joining such and awesome group of ladies here at YNS, I can’t wait to get started and share all my creations with you!!

Deborah Anton

Deborah Anton <br>Designer
My name is Deborah Anton and I am a stay at home mom to 11 year old twin boys and a wife of 12 years to a patient, loving, and awesome Army Officer. I am originally from California but currently live in Tennessee. I keep pretty busy just on the home-front with my active boys playing different sports, moving every few years, and volunteering with the Army. But in the little "me" time I do get, I love to do anything crafty and hide in my craft room!! I started out 11 years ago designing and creating jewelry for 2 large retailers, which led me to having my own business; until 8 years ago when I met designer paper and glue. A new love relation began! I am so excited to be part of the YNS team and work alongside so many talented ladies!

Jen Roach

Jen Roach <br>Designer
My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 3 year old daughter. I'm a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night ---or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it's been my passion ever since. I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a "scrappy stamper". I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address:

Julie Elak

Julie Elak <br>Designer
Hi, I am Julie Elak, aka "The Last Minute Crafter". My days are kept busy working full time and running after my children. I use almost every free minute to craft, my purse is typically full of copics and a pari of scissors. I began stamping well over 10 years ago, but my love for paper crafting found renewed energy once I discovered the online community in 2009. I started a blog on a whim and am so happy I did. I have made many friendships and found so much support and encouragement on-line.

Laura Nehring

Laura Nehring <br>Designer
My name is Laura, and I am SO excited and honored to be joining the Your Next Stamp Team! I am a former preschool/kindergarten teacher, now stay at home mom to 3 energetic kiddos - 5 year old twin girls, and a 4 year old boy. I met my husband the year I graduated from highschool, and we've been together ever since. We are enjoying life in sunny southern California, where we were both born and raised.

I started scrapbooking in 2006 when I was pregnant with my girls, which led me to stamping and cardmaking a few years later. The point of no return was when I purchased my first Copic marker at a local scrapbook expo 2 years ago... now I'm hooked! I LOVE to color, and it's how I unwind at the end of a busy day! My card making style is fairly clean and simple... I like for the images to be the focus of my creations, so I don't do a lot of embellishing. In addition to Copics, I am also completely obsessed with Kraft Cardstock, and polka dots! I am really looking forward to being a part the YNS team!

Nicole Nastali

Nicole Nastali <br>Designer
Hi! I’m a former kindergarten teacher who is now a stay at home mom to my 2 little girls. My hubby is supportive of all my crafty pursuits and that says a lot about him because I love all kinds of crafts from making headbands, bows, & designing dresses to making party favors and now cards!! I am a newcomer on the stamping scene and have met so many wonderful crafting friends already thanks to the common joy of card making and coloring with Copic markers. I would color all day long if my family would let me…!! Lol! My favorite colors are the blue greens (affectionately called the BG’s) and I try to sneak them into every card I make!! I love to get crafty with my girls (ages 8 & 6) and let them color images right along side me. It’s a fun hobby for us all to share!! A sleepover stamp from YNS was one of my very first stamp purchases & I’ve been in love with Fhiona & friends ever since!! I’m thrilled to be joining the YNS Team with this group of fabulously talented ladies & I can’t wait to share my cards with you!!

Ruza Rebel

I'm a former Administrative Assistant turned stay-at-home mom to a very special young lady. I've been crafting since I was a young child, and when I became a SAHM I turned to crafting to stay busy. Staying busy making cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper is an amazing hobby that I truly fell in love with. I'm very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, that my son loves seeing my creations as well, and my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts. I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available to the crafting industry. That is why I am super excited to share my projects featuring the amazing YNS Digital Stamps, and I look forward to seeing your creations as well!

Sheila Veitch

I was borne and grew up in a small town Canada. I started paper crafting in the fall of 2007, when I saw a stamping catalogue one of my friends had laying around her home. I took one look through the catalogue and was so excited because I knew I had found my favorite hobby at last! Making Cards. I’m a natural born artist, I completed a graphic arts program in college and worked as an artist for several years a life time ago. I currently work as an office administrator in Toronto where I live with my dog Georgie. Though I absolutely love my job, this hobby is my creative outlet. I believe, the cards I make are like little works of art, expressed from the heart. I find that when I’m making a card for a specific person, I am thinking about that person through the whole process. And that in itself can be the gift.
